I need to explain or rant about landlords responsibilities. It is imperative I do so, as many places I have in the past moved into were owned and operated by so many different individuals–those least rightfully the owners acting as if the place was theirs and acting without regard for landlords responsibilities, tenants rights, or human respect.
For example, one place was a lawn unit, attached at the far end of a huge house. The house was owned by one person, managed by a property management company (whose offices were one block away), and maintained by one of the tenants in the main house, a guy who had been there the longest and who is one very manipulative s.o.b., thinking he not only owned the property but had inalienable license to invade, steal, and abuse the otherswho paid more, had real jobs, and who paid their taxes.

Landlord repsonsiblities are not related to the type of exotic wood that’s in the apartment but to provide basic security. That security includes lighting, landscaping, locks and other basic security details.

We’re not talking about saving baseball equipment or a stereo. The question should come down to just how safe is your home? Is your family truly sheltered from the outside dangers of the cruel and unpredictable world? This is something you really should think about. So many families still refrain from locking their doors at night. I can’t help but think this is idiotic. So what, you live in a nice neighborhood. Did you ever ponder the possibility that a criminal may target your neighborhood because it’s nice? Many of these delinquents are looking for nice things and just might be targeting your house because it’s easier to penetrate.
